Gilang Ramadhan or Gilang Ramadhan Kartahadimadja is an Indonesian drummer and musician. Gilang Ramadhan is married to actress and host Shahnaz Haque. Gilang Ramadhan is the second son of Ramadhan Kartahadimadja (Ramadhan K.H.), a writer, painter, writer and Pruistin Atmadjasaputra, Indonesian diplomat.
Since he was a child, Gilang has been acquainted with various musical instruments, such as the piano, violin, and his favorite musical instrument, drums. Gilang learned violin for the first time at Ismail Marzuki Park (TIM) in 1971. He became the youngest student there. The musical deepening continued when two years later. Gilang had gone to France to study piano and organ with Slamet Abdul Sjukur, a well-known composer who also passed on his knowledge to Soe Tjen Marching.
He continued his studies in the United States at Hollywood Professional School, majoring in music in 1980-1982. At almost the same time in 1981-1984 Gilang studied at Los Angeles City College (LACC), majoring in Percusion. Gilang had played in several bands in America, including joining the LACC Big Band which was mainstream jazz in 1983.
