- Stephen Marley was born in Derby, England. After residing in London, UK, Manchester, UK and Lyon, France he returned to Derby where he lives (as of 2009). He spent some time as an academic before taking up writing full time. In addition to video game design and production he is the author of seven novels, including the Chia Black Dragon series, Doctor Who and Judge Dredd as well a number of short stories. His literary work mostly covers science fiction and fantasy although he has produced one novel of historical fiction. Mortal Mask, one of the Chia Black Dragon series, was acclaimed as a masterpiece by the Clute/Grant Encyclopedia of Fantasy.
