Biography

Charlene Soo is a media composer and singer-songwriter from Singapore, based in Los Angeles. Known for her melodic and theme-driven approach to scoring, her work blends orchestral writing with immersive electronic textures. Drawing inspiration from composers such as John Williams and Hildur Guðnadóttir, Charlene's music spans film, television, games, and other visual media.

Her recent credits include Aftershock, a space documentary short directed by Collin Nelson, which was recorded with a 59-piece orchestra in Budapest and studio musicians in Los Angeles. Her work has also been featured in short films, animation, and interactive media, and she has recorded at studios such as Warner Bros. Studios and Evergreen Studios in collaboration with local AFM musicians.

Charlene holds a Master's in Screen Scoring from the University of Southern California and a joint honours degree in Music and Communication from the University of Liverpool. She also studied Electronic Music and Sound Design at The University of Western Australia. Having lived and trained across Singapore, Australia, the UK, and the US, she brings a global perspective to every collaboration.
