Ximena Esparragoza is a Mexican filmmaker currently based in New York. Her films often explore themes of identity, mental struggles, and relationships, using cinema as a tool for social reflection and personal expression.

Her previous short film, Carmen, screened internationally at three film festivals and earned the Student Jury Award at the Messina Opera Film Festival. The jury praised the film for its innovative fusion of opera and contemporary social themes, as well as its ability to speak to younger generations through a fresh cinematic language where fiction and reality intertwine.
