  • Jan Kelly was born on November 8, 1906 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He was an actor, known for Het wonderlijke Leven van Willem Parel (1955) and De gecroonde leersse (1963). He died on March 7, 1999 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Trivia

  • From 1959 until his retirement in 1971, he was a permanent member of Toneelgroep Arena and the New Comedy.
  • He did not begin a stage career until after World War II but in the meantime had gained years of experience in variety, cabaret and operetta.
  • Kelly was the son of the comedian Johan Kelly (1854-1915), and sometimes he performed also under the name Jan Kelly.
  • After the liberation he worked for ten years with mobile theatre groups, including Floor Koen's Nieuw Schouwtoneel.
  • He worked with the duo Mie and Ko, appeared in operettas (as did his wife Christine Auwen (1907-1983) and worked at the German operetta in Düsseldorf.
