Elspeth Domville

Elspeth Domville is a journalist and multi award winning archive producer, researcher and rights clearance specialist whose career spans over 30 years working in documentary, feature films, dramatic television and for several prominent national museums and galleries around the world. Starting her career as a news reporter and then producer, she moved on to long format programming with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's renowned Documentary Unit. She formed her own company in 1998 and has since worked on hundreds of productions. Her regular clients include Amazon Prime, HBO, PBS, the BBC, CBC, Channel 4 (UK), National Geographic, ZDF, ARTE and the Smithsonian Channel.
Her work has been honoured directly with 10 Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television Awards nominations and 2 wins (the equivalent of an Emmy Award or a BAFTA). She has been nominated 3 times for the "Jane Mercer Researcher of the Year Award" by the international organization of researchers and archives - FOCAL International, based in London, England. Productions she has been involved with have gone on to win over 100 awards among them a Peabody and a place on the 2013 Oscar short list for Best Feature Documentary. She is a founding member (2005) and former President of the Visual Researchers' Society of Canada (2015 - 2020). She has sat on numerous professional panels at film festivals and industry events and gives master classes.
