- Dani Melgoza grew up in a variety of places, including Houston, Texas, Guadalajara, San Diego and ultimately the San Francisco Bay Area. While attending school in Berkeley, Melgoza discovered she wanted to pursue a career as an actress upon taking an acting class simply to fulfill a requirement. It would ultimately change her life.
Since graduating college and relocating to Los Angeles, she trained at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting, became a member of SAG-AFTRA, and built a professional career in film, commercials, and voice-over. Melgoza's film credits include Richard III with David Carradine and Maria Conchita Alonso, Gingerbread Man with Gary Busey, Restraining Order with Robin Givens and James Avery, The Custom Mary, and Ghostown. She has also starred in several short films, including Goodnight Vagina with Cheryl Hines and Gary Cole and the drama Knight.
In 2008, the actress received critical acclaim for her portrayal of a former Telenovela star-turned-drug lord's trophy wife in Rick Najera's [MADtv, In Living Color] Latinologues T2U [The Hayworth Theatre / Los Angeles]. Latinologues had a successful run on Broadway in 2005.
A native speaker of English and Spanish and fluent in French, Melgoza is now based in France, where she has developed her work in film, television, and voice performance across all three languages. Her multilingual range has defined her professional profile across US, Latin American, and European productions.
