Lanya Nooralddin

Lanya Nooralddin is a Kurdish filmmaker holding dual BA degrees in Accounting and Filmmaking. Since 2018, she has built an extensive track record in production as a First Assistant Director, Creative Director, and Script Supervisor. After directing student films including 3 Days of 10 Years, Old Me, and Another Earth, she made her professional directorial debut with the short film Beyond the Mind. Beyond the Mind secured a production grant from the Duhok International Film Festival and was selected for its official shorts competition in 2024. The film went on to screen in competition at the Red Sea International Film Festival (2025), featured in the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market Picks (2026), celebrated its Asian Premiere at the Oscar®-qualifying Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (2026), and will make its US Premiere at the Oscar® and BAFTA-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival. Currently, Lanya is in development on her debut feature film, Water Dust, through Red Sea Labs, following her participation in the EAVE Producers Lab in Kurdistan. Her second short film project is also in active development after winning a grant at the Amsterdam Kurdish Film Festival.
