Biography

Lyudmila Sahakyants was born on March 4, 1950 in Tbilisi, USSR [now Republic of Georgia]. She is a writer and director, known for Mkneri Joxovy (1978), Yerazahan (1989) and Karagh (1987).

Worked at Armenfilm since 1972 as scriptwriter and assistant director. Later she went on to direct her own animated films.

In 1967 she began her college education at Yeveran State University, studying in the Department of Philology.

In 1964, at the age of 14, she moved with her family from her birth town of Tbilisi, Soviet Georgia to Yerevan in the then Soviet state of Armenia
