Abdelellah Hamad

Abdelellah's journey into filmmaking began at the High Cinema Institute in Giza, where he studied in the Cinematography Department, drawn to the craft by an early love of still photography and a fascination with how light shapes an image. He graduated in 2024, having built a strong technical foundation in cinematography during his studies.

Even before finishing his degree, Abdelellah stepped onto professional sets in 2022, taking on work as a focus puller on high-end Egyptian productions. It was during this period that he worked closely alongside acclaimed DP Taimour Taimour, who became his mentor and shaped much of his early understanding of the camera department a relationship that continued until Taimour's passing.

Following his graduation, Abdelellah continued building his career as a focus puller while expanding into work as a Director of Photography, shooting commercials and developing a body of work centered on narrative storytelling. Drawn especially to short films and dramas, he has collaborated with a range of directors, using each project to sharpen his visual style and move steadily toward his goal of working full-time as a cinematographer.
