Roy Radin was an American live entertainment promoter, vaudeville impresario, and theatrical producer who built a massive touring empire during the 1970s and early 1980s. Raised in a show business family as the son of a Broadway promoter, Radin left school early to pursue publicity work before launching his own independent variety shows. Known for his aggressive marketing tactics, he achieved substantial financial success before the age of 20, establishing Roy Radin Enterprises to manage multiple traveling revues simultaneously.

Throughout the 1970s, Radin became one of the most prominent variety show promoters in the United States, producing large-scale touring productions under titles such as The Roy Radin Vaudeville Revue. His shows specialized in nostalgia acts and classic comedy, frequently hiring legendary entertainers like Milton Berle, George Jessel, Red Buttons, and Henny Youngman to serve as masters of ceremonies. Operating with a unique business model, his tours partnered extensively with local civic organisations, police associations, and charities to drive ticket sales and advertising revenue across small-town America.

Seeking to transition from regional live revues into mainstream Hollywood filmmaking, Radin traveled to Los Angeles in 1983 to secure a major co-producing role. He partnered with high-profile Hollywood producer Robert Evans to help structure the financing for the upcoming crime-drama film The Cotton Club (1984). However, before the film could enter production, the business arrangement collapsed into a highly publicised legal tragedy. In June 1983, Radin was kidnapped and murdered in what became infamously known in the entertainment industry as "The Cotton Club Murder," a case that later inspired numerous true-crime books, investigative documentaries, and retrospective features.
