Biography

Cornelius Brandreth is a British-American actor making his professional debut as Maurice in the BBC's adaptation of Lord of the Flies (2026), adapted by Jack Thorne and directed by Marc Munden. Discovered by casting director Nina Gold in a nationwide open call, Brandreth joined the cast of 30 boys and filmed on location in Malaysia for several months.

Brandreth was born in London to actress Kosha Engler and barrister Benet Brandreth KC. His paternal grandfather is the broadcaster, author, and former MP Gyles Brandreth. He has one younger brother, Atticus.

He attended The Hall School and Tower House School in London for his primary education and is continuing his studies at secondary school alongside his acting work. In addition to his screen performances, Con is a member of the Young Magicians Club, specializing in sleight-of-hand card magic. He's a dual citizen in the UK and the USA.
