Zhengwu Gu(II)

Zhengwu Gu, an award-winning animation director, writer, and CG artist. In 2023, he wrote and co-directed Dandelion, a short that screened at over 40 international festivals including SIGGRAPH, HollyShorts, LA Shorts, and the Cleveland International Film Festival, earning more than ten international awards. His work spans multiple intersecting fields, including visual narration, animation with medical visualization, public education, commercial design, and special effects. In 2025, he co-founded Gnosphere Studio, focusing on original animation projects such as Cat in Eyes and Siddhartha, both aiming to push the boundaries of animation in thematic depth. He likes delivering talks on animation at professional and academic events, infusing philosophical and social issues into the concepts of animation. He serves as a judge for the Brooklyn Sci-fi Film Festival, Trinity Film Festival, and the Beeston Film Festival.
