Biography

Vernon Forrest was born on January 12, 1971 in Augusta, Georgia, USA. He was an actor, known for Tournament of Dreams (2007), Knockout Kings 2001 (2000) and The Distance (2005). He died on July 25, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

In an 26 July 2009 e-mail to the media, Police Sgt. Lisa Keyes said that Forrest was shot "multiple times in the back" in an apparent robbery, and that there are no suspects.

Helped launch the Destiny's Child group homes in Atlanta, which work to provide homes for the mentally disabled.

Member of the 1992 Olympic team, former IBF welterweight and two-time WBC junior middleweight champion. First boxer to defeat Sugar Shane Mosley.
