Kim Ray is a writer, director, and Executive Producer whose work spans feature film, documentary, and television. Exploring the intersections of culture, technology, and the human experience, her credits include the Academy Award-winning short film WEST BANK STORY and the MTV Documentary Award-winning feature GAGA: FIVE FOOT TWO.
In narrative film, Ray wrote the feature screenplay WHAT THEY SAW, which scored an 8 on The Black List, placing it in the platform's top 5%. The film is currently being packaged and she’s attached to direct. Ray wrote and directed the award-winning science-fiction shorts THE CONNECTION, mentored by Avatar producer Jon Landau, and VIOLET'S NEW LIFE. Her screenwriting has earned top honors from competitions including the Austin Film Festival, ScreenCraft, and BlueCat, and her sci-fi thriller, FASTER, was a quarter-finalist in the 2026 Page International Screenwriting Awards.

She's also directed commercial campaigns for Fortune 500 brands.
Ray earned her MFA in Film Production from USC. She is a member of the Television Academy and Women in Film, and serves on the executive board of USC Women of Cinematic Arts.
