Wayne Mark Rooney was born in Croxteth, Merseyside on the 24th October 1985 and is a professional footballer, most famous for playing for Manchester United, Everton and England.He was raised an Everton fan and was scouted by his boyhood club as a child and joined their youth team, rising through the ranks at the club before making his senior team debut at 16 years old in August 2002 against Tottenham Hotspur. Rooney shot to fame after scoring against Arsenal at Goodison Park, scoring a superb winner to beat the-then unbeaten record of Arsenal's - standing at 30-matches. Arsene Wenger said after the match that Rooney was "the biggest England talent I've seen since I arrived in England. Rooney has since featured at the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups and was widely regarded as his country's best player. He has won the England Player of the Year award four times, in 2008, 2009, 2014, and 2015. With 53 goals in 120 international caps, Rooney is England's all-time record goalscorer and second most-capped player, behind Peter Shilton.
