  • David Merrill has been working in the film industry since 1999. Starting out in Southern California, David got his start working on independent films, working for the legendary Producer Etchie Stroh at Moonstone Entertainment. With an eye toward development of screenplays, David started a screen-writing consultation firm; providing in-depth screen writing & story analysis for producers, directors, screen-writers, and talent agencies. David also worked for Universal Studios (Corporate-HR), before going onto work for NBC-Universal in television production. Since returning home to Memphis, David has worked on such features as Forty-Shades of Blue (Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner), Black Snake Moan, Walk The Line, My Blueberry Nights as well as many commercial projects for clients like JWT, Stone Ward, Radical Media Group, Sposto Interactive, Lily Pulitzer, State Farm Insurance, General Mills, Audi Motors, Ford Motor Company and Levis Jeans. He has worked with some of the most noted directors working in cinema today, including: Barbara Koppel (Oscar Winner-Harlan County USA, Oz, Fight To Live), Ira Sachs (Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner-40 Shades Of Blue, Married Life), Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow, Black Snake Moan, Footloose), Derek Cianfrance (My Blue Valentine), James Mangold (Walk The Line, Identity), Wong Kar Wai (My Blueberry Nights, Chunking Express). His advertising work has included working with some of the best photographers nationally and internationally: Juergen Teller (W Magazine, Marc Jacobs), William Eggleston (William Eggleston Trust, Cartier), Matt Albiani (Ralph Lauren, Lily Pulitzer), Jayne Wexler (New York Magazine, Tacrceva).
