Winnie Y. Lu is a London-based editor and cinematographer, originally from Taipei, Taiwan. Born LU YI-RU, she was introduced to the world of images through a Nikon FM2 camera passed down from her mother-a gift that sparked her fascination with light and movement. Inspired by the works of Ang Lee and Hou Hsiao-hsien, she pursued a degree in Motion Picture at the National Taiwan University of Arts, specializing in cinematography and developing a deep appreciation for visual storytelling.

Over the years, Winnie has worked on more than a hundred productions, including independent short films, music videos, and commercials. Some of the films she shot have received awards at film festivals across the Mandarin-speaking world, highlighting the strength of the stories she helped bring to life. She has also cultivated a keen eye for still photography, capturing behind-the-scenes moments that enrich cinematic narratives.

In 2020, she expanded into editing, discovering new ways to shape stories through rhythm and structure. She has worked on music videos, concert visuals, and sports event promotions for renowned musicians and athletes. Her editorial work has also led to collaborations with the Kaohsiung Film Festival, Nintendo, Meiji, and Hitachi, blending artistic sensitivity with commercial appeal. Whether refining the rhythm of a performance or shaping a documentary narrative, she brings a cinematic touch to every project.

Now based in London, Winnie continues to craft compelling visuals for independent short films and international projects. With an unwavering passion for cinematic storytelling, she is dedicated to pushing creative boundaries-one frame at a time.
