Shengze Ma

Shengze (Mark) Ma, originally from Tianjin, China, graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University (Zhuhai), China, majoring in Cinema and Television, he focused on cinematography during his study in college. He is now a graduate student at the University of Southern California, pursuing a major in Film and Television Production. Throughout his career, he completed several short films and commercials. He intends to understand the truth of our society by observing other people, and documenting their stories by still photography, it also helps him explore imagery's capacity to manifest a subject objectively. After advanced training in cinematography, he delves into examining the themes through a subjective lens and fictional narrative. In contrast to the objective nature of documentary photography, with fiction, he got to discuss the different possibilities of his protagonists when they encountered challenges.
