- In 2020 Rebecca's debut live action drama Of Thread and Almonds was long-listed for a BAFTA, won Best Drama at Bristol Independent Film Festival and won both the Heart Award and the Audience Award for favourite short film at Cambria film festival California. The short also screened at BAFTA and Academy Award qualifying festivals internationally and streamed, for a limited period, on esteemed online platform Omeleto.
Rebecca is represented by Jessica Cooper at Curtis Brown. Her films have been voiced by Ewan McGregor, Nicholas Hoult, Victoria Yeates and Davina Moon. They have also picked up various awards over the years including a Vimeo Staff Pick, Best Animated Short Film at Kino Fest and the DepicT! Audience Award at Encounters and screened at prestigious venues such as The National Gallery London, Grauman's Chinese Theatre LA and the Centre Pompidou Art Museum in Paris.
Alongside her shorts, she has helmed and designed multiple commercial spots for some of the world's top brands including Starbucks, Hershey's, Google, P&G, Sony, Kraft and FIFA. From 2013-2017 Rebecca served on the board of Directors UK, in 2022 she was selected as a mentee on Women in Film and TV's prestigious mentoring scheme, made a Gold judge on the animation jury at the Creative Circle Awards and sat on the jury for Best Director at the BAFTA CYP Awards.
Rebecca is in the early stages of writing her debut feature, which was supported through Early Development by the BFI (and the National Lottery) and presented at Film London's UPStream pitching event in 2025. Set in 1988, If Destroyed Still True is a coming-of-age drama about eleven year old girl Pen whose cocoon, in the family's tumbledown house by the sea, is threatened by her parents decision to take in foster teens. The story focuses on her relationships with each of the three kids, and how they transform her perspective on life, love and what 'family' really means. The feature is and based on true events from Rebecca's childhood growing up in an East Anglian seaside town.
Having just cast actor Timmika Ramsay to perform the final film in her 'Postpartum Poems' trilogy - TV Screen Mind, Rebecca is excited to be prepping to shoot in December 2025. Moving forwards, she wants to create hybrid live-action/animation long form work with a focus on telling stories that empower women and girls.
