Mark Eugene Vaughn was born on June 17 in Hempstead, Long Island. Raised as an only child, he entertained himself with hand puppets and a toy theater. Yearly family visits to Radio City Music Hall increased his love for film and stage. At the age of ten, Mark saw his first Broadway show-Hello Dolly-and that was when he made his decision to be an actor. In high school Mark trained in theater and voice, and toured Germany with his Church gospel choir. A fan letter led to him being invited by the producers of "The Brady Bunch" to visit the show and hang out with the cast-his first time on a Hollywood Soundstage. At Brooklyn College, Mark began his training in jazz, tap and African dance, while majoring in film and minoring in theater. He made his film debut in a featured role in "The Warriors". His scenes were shot overnight, and it was there that he learned how to perform in an action sequence without getting injured. After graduation, Mark headed to Summer Stock in Daytona Beach Florida. He learned and performed a new musical show every week. And even performed all five shows in a single weekend. This experience taught him how to work quickly and maintain a sense of humor under pressure. Mark returned to New York and worked in theater and daytime television. He frequently appeared in guest star roles in, "All My Children","One Life To Live", and, "Another World". He also landed several television commercial jobs and worked as a commercial print model. Two of his favorite commercials were for Scope Mouthwash and Old Spice Deodorant. In true show biz fashion, Mark replaced an actor in the role of Constance, in Jonin'. This led to his Off Broadway debut at The Public Theater. During the late eighties Mark ventured into the world of television production beginning with the Theater World Awards and special starring Liza Minnelli. His tap dance training paid off when he danced with Miss Minnelli during the rehearsals and later taught the steps to her co-star Lou Gossett Jr. After a brief stint performing on a cruise ship, Mark returned to television production working on Night of 100 Stars III and two Daytime Emmy Awards shows. Mark continued to dance, appearing in productions in Atlantic City casinos and Madison Square Garden. 'When he wasn't acting, he worked as a swing dresser in the original Broadway productions of "Cats" and "Les Miserables".Between Church duties and parenthood, Mark has found a way to continue his presence on stage and screen. He landed his first co-star role on Law and Order SVU, and went on to play numerous lead and supporting roles in independent films since then.In 2026, his track had multiple roles in the Off Broadway world premiere of Hans Litten: The Jew That Cross-Examined Hitler. You will see him in the upcoming features Don't Move and Orpheus in Reverse.
