Sam Cusson

With a background in social work, I was taught very quickly the importance of resilience, emotional regulation in high-intensity situations, and fighting uphill battles. I've always had a passion for uphill battles and complex problems. The kind of student to get 100's, and then do the extra credit to make it 105, for sport. Growing up without a budget for film, and hard to get butts in seats for plays, I taught myself to sing and dance to just have the chance to do body transformations for unpaid roles. I did my first film while training Uta Hagen and Meisner techniques at NYU, and continued my studies with Claire Karpen at Juilliard. I'm proud to say I've now acted in over twenty films, seven plays, countless musicals, written my own films and plays, directed, gaffed, etc. It's all deepened my connection to the complexities of this artform. Every day, I am one step closer to connecting with that boy that was so inspired he stopped studying for the first time in his life to look up a WikiHow on how to get into acting.
