Biography

Alexandra Bonner is a rising filmmaker and photographer from Atlanta, Georgia, known for her bold visual style, emotional storytelling, and passion for championing young Black creatives in film.

Raised in the suburban community of Conyers and subsequently in Tampa, FL, Alexandra first expressed her creativity through singing, drawing, and other artistic pursuits before discovering her love for visual storytelling. That early spark developed into a focused passion for filmmaking and photography, where she blends cinematic vision with disciplined technical skill and a unique creative voice.

With more than three years of experience in advanced photography, videography, and post-production, Alexandra brings a strong command of industry-standard editing software and camera techniques. Her work is driven by emotion, internationally, and a deep understanding of aesthetics - allowing her to craft stories that are powerful, personal, and visually striking.

Her films have screened on AspireTv and at prestigious festivals including the 2025 Pan African Film Festival, Greater Cleveland Film Festival, London Women's Film Festival, Roxbury International Film Festival, Imagine This Women's Film Festival, Tampa's Young Director's Film Festival, and the East Point Peachtree International Film Festival. In 2026, her film was selected to screen at the 29th Annual Do it Your Damn Self!! National Youth Film Festival at MIT.

Internationally, her work has been screened and earned recognition, winning "Best Black/African Film" at the 2025 Milan Indie Film Festival in Italy, and achieved semi-finalist status at the 2025 London Women's Film Festival.

In 2026, Alexandra won Best Black Culture Film at The World Film Festival in Cannes, and The Longleaf Studio Student Film Festival at Jackson State University Awarded "Ice C.R.E.A.M. Truck" Best Narrative Film, Best Ensemble Performance, and Best Cinematography. She also won First Place at the Tampa Museum of Art Young Directors' Film Festival.

Alexandra is a proud Black Girls Film Camp 2024 Teen Director alumna, where she continues to serve as an alumni coach and media intern, uplifting and supporting the next generation of Black girl filmmakers.

Rooted in faith, Alexandra uses her God-given talent and relentless drive to tell meaningful stories, spark dialogue, and create art that resonates.

In 2025, Alexandra started her own film production company, Suga Haus Films, based in Los Angeles, California.

Alexandra attends UCLA's School of Theater, Film, and Television.
