Biography

Alba Morera

Mini bio

  • Alba was born in Barcelona, Spain.

She became an avid reader at a young age. This personal experience in literary worlds gave her a wealth of creative narrative. The first short stories she wrote were published in magazines and received awards.

At thirteen, she joined theatre company Ditiramba. During High School she nurtured her passion for writing, photography, acting and modern dance. She trained in schools such as Institut del Teatre and El Timbal.

Her first film credits were under the direction of Peter Greenaway and Isaki Lacuesta.

After receiving her BFA in Film from Pompeu Fabra University, Alba was awarded the Beca "LaCaixa" (Fulbright equivalent), which provided her with the opportunity to further her studies in Directing and Screenwriting at The Los Angeles Film School. She wrote and directed several shorts, including "Wall/Paper", which was well-received in film festivals and distributed by Canal+/Masesmas.

She worked as an Assistant Director and Script Supervisor before becoming the Personal Assistant to film director Fina Torres. She also went onto being a Script Reader at Esperanza Productions and, later on, Director of Development at Goff Productions.

Alba has recently completed three full-lengths scripts and directed two short films. She is also a freelance photographer and videographer.
