Max Galante

Max Galante is an emerging American filmmaker from Dallas, Texas, known for his emotionally charged and visually distinctive short films. Born in 2009, Galante discovered a passion for storytelling early in life, beginning with school theater productions before transitioning into filmmaking. Currently a student at Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, he is an integral part of the school's Stage & Film program. Galante is a true auteur-writing, directing, shooting, editing, and even composing for his films-often working with limited budgets yet achieving remarkable cinematic results. His breakout short, Ossesione (2024), a high-contrast psychological thriller, earned multiple awards including Best Short Film and Best Male Director at the NYC Independent Film Festival, and was screened internationally in Milan, Paris, and Breckenridge. In 2025, he followed up with Walkin' The Bridge, a gritty revenge drama influenced by classic mafia films, and Highbinder, a dystopian noir set in a totalitarian America. Both films further showcased his stylistic range and narrative ambition. Galante describes his process as a constant evolution, seeing each film as a learning opportunity and a "draft" toward creative growth. Despite the challenges of independent filmmaking, including frequent rejections on the festival circuit, he remains committed to using cinema as a vehicle for emotional resonance. With a distinctive voice and a growing list of accolades, Max Galante is establishing himself as one of the most promising young filmmakers in the independent film scene.
