Biography

Ira Sharma is an Indian-American Singer-Songwriter, Producer, Sound Designer and Film composer based in Los Angeles, California. Known for her emotive storytelling and unique blend of pop and cinematic soundscapes, she has gained recognition for her compelling melodies and vulnerable artistry.

A Berklee College of Music graduate in Music Production and Engineering (MP&E) and Songwriting with a specialization in Audio Post-Production, Ira has made waves in both music and film. Her original music has been acknowledged by industry leaders from Atlantic Records and Universal Music, and has been featured in Rolling Stone India, A&R Factory UK, and more. Her single "Shy" won at the Warner Songwriting Camp, and her music video for "Ur Lying" garnered over 90,000 views on YouTube.

As a film composer, Ira scored the trailer for Silent Cycle, a drama about a 12-year-old girl navigating gender roles, tradition, and adolescence in an Indian household. The film's trailer is set to screen at the Beverly Hills Film Festival at the TCL Chinese Theatre in April 2025. Additionally, Ira composed the original score for Khadima the Caregiver, a film about a housemaid escaping from Saudi Arabia after enduring three years of torture was recently nominated at the New Delhi Film Festival.

As a recipient of the prestigious Wachter Fellowship Award from Berklee College of Music, Ira recently completed an internship at Sony Music Publishing's production music houses: Extreme Music and Hans Zimmer's Bleeding Fingers Music located in Santa Monica, California. There, she gained invaluable experience in sync licensing, music production and film scoring, working at the dynamic intersection of creativity and business.
