- Won the pro-am competition 2004 Fürth Grand Prix beating his friend Matthew Stevens 4-2 in the final. After his death the tournament was renamed the Paul Hunter Classic.

- His last ever match was his first round match at the 2006 World Championship in which he lost 10- to Neil Robertson.
