James Binzer

James Binzer is an actor, singer and musician, raised in Texas and now based in Birmingham Alabama. From a young age, singing, comedy skits and entertaining was a part of growing up in an artistic family. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the rest of the world didn't live life like they were in a musical. My family moved all over the country with my Father's work. Chicago, Niagara Falls, Ohio, Indiana and then at 12 moving to the Gulf Coast of Texas. I attended 7 different schools. During a switch from one school to another midyear, a drama teacher discovered I had a talent for performing and encouraged me to pursue the craft. Friday nights playing on the gridiron and Saturday mornings competing in Speech tournaments. After graduation I was able to secure small roles in films that were shooting nearby and also participated in community theatre. I made the decision at 21 to give Hollywood a shot and made my way to Los Angeles. Not long after, I got a phone call informing me I was soon to be a Father. I made my way back to Texas and toiled in the oil fields and refineries and put my acting career on the back burner. A Facebook post looking for background actors led to an opportunity to get back on a movie set after an absence of over 30 years. Wow, technology has certainly changed in that time. With the fire reignited, I have started over from where I stopped and I couldn't be more excited about having a passion for work again. I look forward to each new challenge, and I'm thankful for everyone that has given me an opportunity.
