Biography

Brian Sullivan was born on August 9, 1917 in Oakland, California, USA. He was an actor, known for Omnibus (1952), Max Liebman Presents: The Merry Widow (1955) and Musical Comedy Time (1950). He died on June 17, 1969 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Took the name of Brian Sullivan to avoid confusion with another Broadway actor named Joseph Sullivan.

Versatile, boyishly good-looking (in his younger days) tenor, who came from Broadway to spend fourteen seasons with the Metropolitan Opera, beginning with the title role in Benjamin Britten's "Peter Grimes" in 1948. Other frequent roles with the company included Alfred in Johann Strauss II's "Die Fledermaus," Tamino in Mozart's "The Magic Flute," Grigori on Mussorgsky's "Boris Gudanov," and the title role in Wagner's "Lohengrin.".
