Nathaniel Brimmer-Beller
Nathaniel is an award-winning stage performer, director, screen actor, and published playwright.

His writing has been listed among the Best Theatre of the Year by The British Blacklist (In Everglade Studio), selected for the Criterion Theatre's New Writing Showcase on the West End (Pretty Rough Terrain), nominated for the George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright (Blood Red Apples & Deep Gold Honey), the BBC Writersroom Popcorn Award for Best New Writing (In Everglade Studio), and an Offie (Port City Signature). Nathaniel was named a Bursary Prize winner for his writing and performance at Screenshot, hosted by the Royal Court (for The Nomineers, a monologue adaptation of his play Press).

His first published play, In Everglade Studio, listed by The British Blacklist among the Best Theatre of 2024, featured seven original songs with lyrics written by Brimmer-Beller, and transferred to London from an acclaimed Edinburgh run. His thriller Port City Signature and comedy Press were published not long afterwards, totaling three published works in 14 months.

Brimmer-Beller has directed multiple short films, including Evening Plans (nominated at the Edinburgh International Film Festival) and B-Roll, which premiered in London at Side/Step Festival.

He has directed more than 30 theatrical productions - including the UK premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winner James Ijames' White - and written more than twenty plays, including seven acclaimed premieres at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival ("Genius" - Broadway Baby; "Fringe theatre does not get much better than this" - The Violet Curtain; "The most intelligent piece of theatre I have seen at the Fringe" - EdFringe Review; "Taut and snappy dialogue, a clever script with well engineered twists, an almost miraculous cool" - AllEdinburgh Theatre; "An intelligently constructed masterpiece" - The Student; "Hilarious... some of the loudest laughs of this year’s Fringe" - Theatre Scotland).

Brimmer-Beller has collaborated with the Criterion Theatre, Almeida Theatre, The Hope Theatre, VAULT Festival, Pleasance, Assembly, The Old Red Lion, The Jack Studio Theatre, South of the River Pictures, SISTER Global, Criterion Theatre, and more.

Notable works include theatre-industry satire The Kindness of Strangers, darkly comedic story of Black and Jewish life Blood Red Apples & Deep Gold Honey (developed with the Almeida Theatre and nominated for the George Devine Award in 2022), 1960s-set fashion industry mystery Nines, three-hander heist thriller Fear of Roses, short piece And I Mean That Sincerely, and acclaimed seaside noir Port City Signature, which was selected to reopen The Hope Theatre's new era in 2024, and earned an OffWestEnd award nomination for its design.

Brimmer-Beller continues to write and perform for stage and screen.
