Biography

In 2004, Allan Loeb's career was struggling and his agent dropped him. Nearly broke, Loeb moved to New York to join Gamblers' Anonymous and to write his "Hail Mary" script. In March 2005, he returned with his script The Only Living Boy in New York (2017). The script became a hit within Hollywood's agency circuit and soon, Loeb was signed by CAA. While that script was being pitched around town, Loeb started writing his next script, Things We Lost in the Fire (2007). Then in May 2005, The Only Living Boy in New York (2017) sold to Bona Fide Productions and Sony. Then in July 2005, Dreamworks purchased Things We Lost in the Fire (2007) from Loeb. Both scripts landed in the top four spots on the inaugural 2005 Black List of the Best Unproduced Scripts in Hollywood.

In May 2001, Allan Loeb sold his spec script thriller Protection to Davis Entertainment and 20th Century Fox for 'low-six figures against mid-six figures'. It was his third script deal as a writer, after previously selling scripts to DreamWorks and United Artists. Loeb would continue to revise the script over the years, even as late as January 2006 for producer John Davis, before being replaced by screenwriters Miles Chapman and Mark Bomback.

Did an unused rewrite of the script for Made of Honor (2008) in 2003.

In 1998, Allan Loeb sold a pitch for a baseball dramedy with co-writer Steven Pearl titled "The 7th Game" to United Artists for 'low-six figures against mid-six figures'.

Performed a polish of the pilot script for the series Terra Nova (2011) in 2010.
