Jobin Kuruvilla George is an filmmaker, and visual artist born in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and raised in Kerala, India. After spending the early years of his life in Abu Dhabi, he relocated to Kerala , where he completed his education. He pursued a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communication from Chennai, India, before making a significant move to Australia in 2013 to pursue Master's degree. He later moved to Melbourne in 2016, where he started his filmmaking career.
In 2019, Jobin began his career in filmmaking with a focus on short films. His debut works, including Memoirs, Inspire, and Dear Hummingbird, quickly gained attention for their poignant storytelling and compelling visuals. His short film Inspire achieved notable success in the international film circuit, being selected for prestigious film festivals such as the Seoul International Short Film Festival, Tokyo International Short Film Festival, Roma International Short Film Festival, New York Tri-State International Film Festival, Toronto Indie Filmmakers Festival, and Serbest International Film Festival (SIFF).
The film Inspire also garnered significant recognition, including being a finalist at the Hervey Bay Short Film Festival and winning the Best Fantasy Drama Award in the Night of Shorts Film Festival held at Milano. This marked an important milestone in Jobin's career, cementing his place as a rising talent in the filmmaking world.
