Jorge Jimenez * Actor. Writer. Producer. The rare creative force who has built a career across two industries, two languages, and three decades. Jorge did not cross over from one world to another. He built both worlds simultaneously. Trained at Mexico City's prestigious National Institute of Fine Arts and the Academia Artística Emilia Carranza, and Jimenez arrived in the entertainment industry not as a face looking for a role, but as a complete artist looking for a canvas.

He found it early. His performance as Coco in the landmark stage production De La Noche earned him dual nominations from El Universal for Best Upcoming New Actor and from the National Theatre Critics Association announcing a talent that critics on both sides of the border immediately recognized as something different. The theater community took notice. Hollywood would follow after Jimenez gained national recognition as the face of "El Pasante de Ingeniero" in Mexico’s "Solidaridad" television campaign; four commercials over four years earned him a nomination for ‘Breakthrough Actor’ at the Teleguía Awards.

The breakthrough on screen came with Hasta Morir, opposite Demián Bichir a film that went on to win both the Ariel Award (Mexico's equivalent of the Oscar) and the Audience Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Jimenez's portrayal of Ernesto, the film's antagonist, announced a performer comfortable in moral complexity, unafraid of shadow. The performance earned him an exclusive six-year contract with Televisa, Latin America's most powerful network and set a trajectory that would carry him north where he received a full ride scholarship to attend the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in NYC and he also completed graduated studies in Dramatic Writing at NYU; Tisch.

Director Bruce Beresford the Academy Award-nominated filmmaker behind Driving Miss Daisy cast Jimenez as Antonio Banderas' brother in the HBO international feature And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself. Director Ted Demme cast him in Blow alongside Johnny Depp. He appeared in The Crow: Wicked Prayer opposite Danny Trejo and anchored the lead role in the NBC/Telemundo pilot Placas as Zenaido a series broadcast across the United States and Mexico. His lead in Exile from the Sun earned the film Best Short Film at the Canadian Film Festival. Back in the U.S. his lead performance in The Gun Man, an innovative short filmed in a single unbroken take by DP Eric Edwards (Knocked Up) Most recently, he joined the DC universe as Tío Chema in the feature Blue Beetle.

On stage, Jimenez's work has been equally distinguished. Handpicked from Televisa's exclusive roster of contracted actors to star under the direction of Adriana Barraza later Oscar-nominated for Babel in the exclusive production of Noche de Actores. His title role in Pedro Páramo at the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts brought him to Los Angeles, one of the most revered works in Latin American literature set the standard for bilingual theatrical productions, one week in Spanish and one week in English, spanning several months of success. Jimenez, then stepped behind the curtain, acquired the rights to Class Enemy, and produced and starred in its Mark Taper Forum premiere, a transition from actor to producer that signaled something larger was at work. The Los Angeles Times named his performance as Iron a Critic's Choice.

Allow me to mention, Jorge Jimenez has never been only an actor. From 2010 to 2018, he revealed the full scope of his creative vision: as writer, producer, and co-star of the biographical television series José José: El Príncipe de la Canción, broadcast on NBC/Telemundo and now streaming on Peacock. The series, based on Jimenez's personal friendship with the legendary Mexican singer, a relationship built over years and entrusted to him directly by José José himself stands as one of the most acclaimed Latin biographical productions in recent television history. It is the project that established Jimenez not just as a performer, but as a major creative force behind the camera.

Jorge safeguards untold truths, real stories of real lives, entrusted to him through hard earned exclusive access such as the development of TV Series Harry Love: The Man Who Tracked Down Joaquin Murrieta, which is based on the interviews he conducted with the descendants of the Gold Rush hero. Through his production company, An Eagle Tribute Productions, Jimenez now operates at the intersection of craft and commerce developing multi-cultural projects of weight, packaging them with the precision of a seasoned producer, and bringing to each one the perspective of an artist who has lived on both sides of the creative equation. His current slate also includes Mermaid of Marbella: Se Busca, a bilingual production, currently (2026) in pre-production with Producer Garrett Grant who is also making his directorial debut; the bilingual feature-length expansion of the José José universe, Mr. Sold Out: Behind the Interview, in active packaging for Universal; and Agent 009, a high-concept bilingual action property in development.

What distinguishes Jorge Jimenez now, at this stage of a career built across continents and disciplines is not range alone. It is integration. The actor who understands artistry and production economics. The writer who hears every line spoken before it reaches the page. The producer who will protect the right story. Jorge has done it. The track record is proven and he’s just getting started.

He auditioned for the film &quot;Blow&quot; to play &quot;Cesar&quot; Penelope Cruz&#39;s
boyfriend, but Dir. Ted Demme thought he looked too much like Johnny
Depp. However, Jorge&#39;s strong audition inspired Demme to feature him as
&quot;Alessandro&#39;s guy&quot;.

He starred in the West Coast premier of the play &quot;Class Enemy&quot; (by
Nigel Williams). At the end of the season, he received a gift from a
fellow cast member, a t-shirt from the movie &quot;Desperado&quot;. He wished
Jorge well and hoped to see him work some day with the actor on the
t-shirt (Antonio Banderas). Years later, Dir. Bruce Beresford was in
Mexico and he cast Jorge as the brother of Antonio Banderas in the HBO
film &quot;And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself&quot;.

He was in Los Angeles working in the play &quot;Class Enemy&quot; when he was
invited to an open call for non-union actors. They were casting an
Apple Computer commercial and within the union actors, they couldn&#39;t
find anyone to play Leonardo Da Vinci. After auditioning for the
producers and Dir. Kirk Wong, he was cast in the coveted role, and
Jorge became a SAG member.

In Mexico, for good luck, when an actor begins his career, he asks an
established actor for a kick in the pants. Since &quot;Blow&quot; was Jorge&#39;s
crossover debut, he asked Johnny Depp to kick him in the pants.
