Beth Mendelson is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and was formerly the Senior Executive Producer/Director at Voice of America. During her 20 year career at Voice of America, she focused on issue-oriented programming, bringing global issues to life with bold vision, journalistic depth, and emotional clarity. Her latest documentary, Jamala: Songs of Freedom, follows Ukrainian singer-songwriter Jamala in the early hours of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and profiles her activism of raising money and awareness for her homeland.
