- Lyric Marie Benson was born on September 20, 1980 in Overland Park, Kansas, USA. She was an actress, known for Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001) and Chappelle's Show (2003). She died on April 25, 2003 in Soho, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA.
- In 2002, she received a degree in theatrical arts from Yale with distinction.
- She was shot in front of her New York apartment on April 25, 2003, by her obsessed ex-fiancé, and died a day later. Her father Terry started up a non-profit organization called "Lyric of Life" in the hopes of raising organ donor awareness; assisting donor and recipient families; and granting college scholarships to senior theater students.
- Is not to be confused with Lyric Benson, the daughter of Robby Benson, even though they have the same unusual name and are about the same age.
- She moved with her mother to Morocco in 1992 and attended the Casablanca American School.
