Jeff Wilber

Biography

Jeff Wilber

Overview

  • Born
September 8, 1963 · New York City, New York, USA

Biography

  • Raised in Buffalo, NY (Go Bills!), Jeff has spent over 35 years in multiple facets of the entertainment industry as well as the world of social justice. He began his career in live theater as an Equity stage manager, stumbled into the world of TV news via a random encounter on the F train, was tossed over to entertainment charity work having caught a gig with Comic Relief at Radio City. This lead to four subsequent big shows and multiple other smaller events for the high profile non-profit. Ultimately he found himself in Los Angeles doing random production jobs and, oddly enough, screenwriting; having sold his first pilot pitch to HBO, then one for Showtime, then another for HBO, followed by multiple options, etc. of his work. Tragically, he was brought on for the ill fated fourth season of Deadwood whose cancellation prior to its start broke his heart. He was then hired, and quickly fired for being too good of a writer, by the internet rebirth, and quick demise, of One Life To Live.

Other stops along the way have been with Musicians Assistance Program/MusiCares and healthcare reform programs in conjunction with the Clinton White House as well as other political side gigs.

He now works on the front lines of the Opioid Epidemic in his home town. He still writes, has representation, and, because he avoids L.A. (except for Johnnie's Pastrami) chooses to work when something really interests him.
