Is a very good friend of: Fantasia Barrino, who also appeared on American Idol (2002), with her.

Has a cat named Jewel.

Had suffered a setback when she had to pull out of the VH1 Soul Tour with Jaguar Wright and Kindred, due to a "family emergency," in 2005.

She began singing at age 7, at her mother's wedding.

Before she was a singer, she did everything from waitressing to singing as a lead vocalist in a Christian rock band.

Besides singing, she is good at helping others with their problems and she is also a licensed bartender.

Had finished with school and is currently pursuing a career in music and acting, as well as real estate after she was knocked out of American Idol (2002). She came in fourth place, a couple of years before Chris Daughtry in 2006, and 'LaKisha Jones', the following year.
