Biography

Sarah Wetherbee is from Londonderry, NH and an alumna of Londonderry High School. Graduating from Emerson College in Boston, where she studied journalism, Sarah next worked for New England's first 24-hour news channel, NECN, as a copywriter. Moving to Los Angeles, she started in post-production on the soap opera Sunset Beach before shifting to writing and producing documentary television. Sarah went to work for Oscar-award winning producer, Arnold Shapiro on shows like MSNBC Investigates, MTV's Flipped, CBS's Big Brother and ABC's reality series The Family.

In 2001 Sarah joined then start-up Authentic Entertainment as writer/producer for numerous Travel Channel series before her segue to show running. In 2007, Sarah and partner Emre Sahin, created, directed and executive produced History Channel's Cities of the Underworld with Authentic, producing over 40 episodes around the world, making Cities one of the top 5 most watched shows on the network.

In 2008, Sarah founded Karga Seven Pictures with award-winning director, Emre Sahin, and award-winning producer and two-time Writers Guild of America Award nominee, Kelly McPherson. Karga's first projects were a series of specials for History Channel that included Day After Disaster and Sniper: Inside the Crosshairs. Karga's first feature film, 40, written and directed by Emre and produced by Sarah, was shot on location in Istanbul, distributed around the world and made its North American debut at the Toronto International Film Festival 2011.

Since establishing Karga Seven Pictures, Sarah has executive produced the series How Booze Built America with Mike Rowe for Discovery, Futurescape with James Woods and Alien Encounters for Science Channel, as well as numerous series and specials for networks including History, Discovery, National Geographic, TLC, Travel Channel, ID, Food Network, Cooking Channel, Animal Planet, Weather Channel, and MTV.
