Mini bio

  • David S. Hogan is an actor, producer, and director, known Z Nation (2014) (Seasons 1 and 4), Grimm (2011), The Device (2014), and The Parish (2019). He was raised, and continues to live in Seattle, Washington.

David holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Seattle University, with Minors in Music and Psychology. During his time at SU, he discovered a passion for performance by first singing with the university choir, then acting with the drama program. His first role was playing the Street Singer in Bertold Brecht's The Threepenny Opera.

Once out of university, he hit the boards, working often with Seattle Shakespeare Company, where he played King Henry in Henry V, Caliban in The Tempest, Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Antony in Julius Caesar, to name a few. As a dog fanatic, one of his favorite stage roles was the noble and wise canine, Enzo, in The Art of Racing in the Rain at Book-It Repertory Theatre. He is a three time winner of the Seattle Times Footlight Award for Stellar Acting, and also a winner of the Gypsy Rose Lee Award for Outstanding Acting.

In 2012, David and his wife/best friend/inspiration, Angela DiMarco, also an actor (they met during a production of The Taming of the Shrew at Arts West), founded Mighty Tripod Productions and Mighty Tripod Acting Studio. They have produced numerous short films, and the feature films Paralytic (2016), The Parish (2019), and Mr. Bleachers. As educators, they offer on-camera training to students of all ages and experience levels.
