Biography

Jonnie Boer was born on January 9, 1965 in Giethoorn, Netherlands. He is known for Joe Hanrahan 'Invents' Insane-O-Vision (2014), De slimste mens (2012) and De Opvolging (2025). He was married to Thérèse Tausch. He died on April 23, 2025 in Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands, Netherlands.

Himself and his wife Thérèse owned restaurant Brass Boer in Bonaire.

He began his career in Amsterdam at the age of 17 and had been cooking at De Librije since 1987.

Jonnie Boer achieved his third Michelin star in 2004 with his De Librije restaurant. Boer was the owner of De Librije in Zwolle, the only restaurant in the Netherlands with three Michelin stars.

In February 2025, Boer told the Telegraaf that it was time to take a step back after years of hard work.

In 1997, Jonnie became SVH-master chef (Dutch Association of Restaurant Professional Skills).
