Vinayak Singh Oberoi

Vinayak Singh (né Oberoi) is an Indian author, medical writer, independent researcher, and student of Cardiac Perfusion Technology in the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) at the National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS University), Jaipur. His academic interests include cardiac surgery, cardiopulmonary bypass, extracorporeal circulation, cardiovascular physiology, paediatric cardiac perfusion, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Singh is undergoing structured clinical and academic training in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery support, including cardiopulmonary bypass operation, oxygenator and circuit management, activated clotting time (ACT) monitoring, myocardial protection, cardioplegia delivery systems, hemodynamic assessment, blood gas interpretation, temperature regulation during bypass, hemofiltration techniques, and the fundamentals of venoarterial and venovenous ECMO. His research interests focus on the physiological, biochemical, and pharmacological mechanisms underlying cardiopulmonary bypass and perioperative cardiac care. Alongside his formal medical education, Singh has undertaken continuing professional development in cardiovascular medicine, emergency care, anatomy and physiology, thrombosis management, research ethics, and patient centred healthcare. He holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), First Aid and Safety, and healthcare related disciplines. He also completed a Diploma in First Aid and Safety and earned a certificate in Understanding Dementia from the University of Tasmania, reflecting broader interests in healthcare education and patient care. As an academic author, Singh has published educational works in cardiovascular science, perfusion technology, pharmacology, and biomedical sciences. His major publications include CABG Surgery: Fundamentals of Perfusion and Bypass, Fundamentals of Pharmacology: 800 High Yield MCQs for B.Sc. He has also appeared in Indian television productions, including *Karmaphaldata Shani* and *Jai Kali Kalkattawali*. Singh was born to Dr. Uma Dhar and Late Rajiv Singh in Calcutta. He has an elder half-brother Abhishek Singh who was born to Late Rajiv Singh and Preeti Singh.
