Lex Rentería is a queer Mexican filmmaker, born in Guadalajara, committed to telling authentic stories from the LGBTQ+ community. Through his work, he seeks to explore the complexities of queer identity and experience, using visual and narrative resources that reflect these realities.

His debut short film Neon Purple premiered at the Guadalajara International Film Festival in the 'Made in Jalisco' section. This project, along with his second short film Agaves at Dawn, which was produced in just 48 hours for the Expresso Tequila Rally at the Tequila International Film Festival, demonstrates his ability to portray complex emotions on screen.
