- David Evans was born on January 22, 1944 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He is a director and producer, known for Gravel Springs Fife and Drum (1971), Soundtrack for a Revolution (2009) and American Experience (1988).
- Ethnomusicologist and director of the Ethnomusicology/Regional Studies program at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music in the University of Memphis, where he has worked since 1978. In 2023, he was inducted in the Blues Hall of Fame as a non-performer.
