Biography

Caroline Baggaley - A writer, producer and director based in Montreal, Canada.

After living in Houston for 25 years and working in the oil and gas industry, the time had come to move back to my hometown and be closer to family. Once re-established, I veered right back to my childhood passion: writing!

I wrote my first feature drama, LAILA NADENE, and founded Productions Baroca, a production house committed to making movies with meaning.

While going into this project, I had two serious challenges. This being my first film, I had zero experience and even less credibility in the industry. The second challenge was a serious fear-factor. I had no idea where to begin. Even though the fear of failure was humongous I was equally determined to figure it out. I made a master plan and a detailed budget then I pushed the fear aside and plowed forward like a bull in a China shop.

My first feature has toured the film festivals for two months and has won 66 international awards, with 30 festivals still pending results. If I had allowed the fear to win, I would have missed out on one of the greatest achievements of my life. I keep these two thoughts in mind: never allow the fear to win and you never know unless you try!
