Mark Pollesel

Biography

Mark Pollesel

Mini bio

  • Mark is a lifelong film lover, monster kid, and storyteller. While still in high school, he began volunteering in Ottawa's film scene, most notably working on Lee Demarbre's cult classic Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter.

In 2007, Mark channeled his love of storytelling and wrestling into founding Capital City Championship Combat, aka C*4 Wrestling, which blends athleticism with narrative-driven performance. Under his direction, C*4 has become Canada's top independent wrestling promotion, known for its sold-out shows and cult following. In addition, he has organized the annual Fighting Back: Wrestling with Cancer event, which since 2011, has raised over $700 000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Throughout this, Mark developed various screenplays. In 2023, Mark saw the release of Enter the Drag Dragon, his first produced feature script, directed by Lee Demarbre. The film saw a national release via Cineplex and screened at international festivals. Mark also wrote the sequel spin-off, the equally outrageous, Dick Toes.

He also co-created Untold Horror with Dave Alexander, a brand exploring unmade horror films. The concept inspired a book published by Dark Horse in 2021 and a documentary series in-development.

He has several other feature projects in development.
