John Castro was born and raised in Southern California. A son of a mother of six children and a father who was a Chef.
After his service in the armed forces, John's first interest was in screen writing where he states "screen writing was always soothing and very therapeutic". Later in life and in order to continue with his writing, he eventually gravitated to the drama aspect of films and studied at Stella Adler Academy of Acting.
He furthered his acting with drama classes at Annie Grindlay Studio, Howard Fine Acting Studio, RD Studios under Robert D'Avanzo and improv at UCB Theatre. After having to go through grueling auditions constantly he got a small film appearance in independent film Cash (2023) starring Stan Harrington and Douglas Bennett.
He was given a larger part as Agent John Gonzales in the sequel Cash II (2024 currently in production) which he is also co-producing.
