Bruno Elrington(1929-1993)

Bruno Elrington was an English professional wrestler, coach and actor. His sports career started in the boxing ring, but in 1959 he was recruited by Joint Promotions to the world of wrestling. In 1964, he fought Indian wrestler Dara Singh in India, drawing 57,000 fans and ending in a no-contest. Five years later he went to Japan to work for International Wrestling Enterprise. He returned to England and finished his wrestling career there in 1980. Big Bruno appeared in four feature films, and as a coach he trained promising young wrestlers at his gym in Portsmouth.
