Stefan Effenberg was born on August 2, 1968 in Hamburg, Germany. He is an actor, known for Who Stole the Cup? (2018), UEFA Champions League (1992) and Sportclub (1974). He has been married to Claudia Effenberg since December 31, 2004. He was previously married to Martina Effenberg.

Former German soccer player, compiling 35 caps for Germany's national side. During his professional club career, he played for Mönchengladbach (1987-1990, 1994-1998), Bayern Munich (1990-1992, 1998-2002), AC Fiorentina (1992-1994), VfL Wolfsburg (2002-2003) and Al Arabi (2003-2004).

Best remembered for showing the finger to whistling German fans during a match against South Korea at the 1994 FIFA World Cup USA (1994). Thus, he had to leave Germany's national team.

Left his first wife and then manager Martina and got romantically linked to Claudia Strunz, wife of his teammate Thomas Strunz (2002).

His 2003 autobiography includes a chapter entitled "What Lothar Matthäus knows about football", which was just a blank page. Matthäus captained West Germany to its third World Cup win in 1990.
