Biography

Napoleon Dahnsjö is a Swedish filmmaker whose early career included uncredited second-unit work on the Academy Award-nominated feature Evil (Ondskan) (2003). His contribution to the film’s production and additional footage became a formative milestone, giving him early insight into high-level Scandinavian filmmaking.

He later produced and directed a range of international and documentary projects, including Portofino: The Philippines, where he trained students from Sweden’s top-tier acting academy in on-camera performance - several of whom have since become prominent Scandinavian actors, among them Bahar Pars, known for the Oscar-nominated A Man Called Ove (2017).

Dahnsjö’s work spans narrative film, documentary and television, with key directing and producing credits such as Bilar 50 tal och Rock’n’Roll, Att gå på vatten, and the award-nominated short Andras Ungar Dina Barn. His international background includes extensive filmmaking in Southeast Asia and Europe, blending documentary authenticity with cinematic craftsmanship.

He is currently developing the historical epic AYO GORKHALI - The Knife of God, an ambitious mythic-war drama rooted in the Gurkha legacy, marking his most expansive and personal project to date.
