- Ruslana Lyzhychko was born on May 24, 1973, and was raised in Lviv, the ancient capital of Halychyna. She graduated from the Lviv Lysenko Conservatory. She's a songwriter, composer, producer, arranger, and director of her videos. She has recorded 8 CDs and is now the most popular singer in Ukraine. She won the 2004 Eurovision Song contest in Turkey and was the first Ukrainian to win a World Music Award as Best Selling Ukrainian Act in Las Vegas.
